Project Engineer for Software Project Implementation in Public Transport
We are looking for a Project Engineer for Software Project Implementation in Public Transport
-
Who want their work to have a direct impact on how millions of people move through the country every day.
-
Who enjoy close collaboration with rail operators and see first-hand how software improves public transport.
-
Who are looking for international project work with real technical depth and clear ownership.
Your tasks
-
You support our customers from the rail industry in implementing and operating the IVU.suite – from requirements analysis through to go-live.
-
You analyse existing operational processes, configure and develop solutions together with the customer, based on our software products.
-
You manage your projects independently: you plan milestones, drive implementation, and keep all stakeholders informed.
-
You work closely with the software development team in Berlin to translate customer requirements into concrete product improvements.
-
You document project outcomes and configurations in a way that benefits both customers and colleagues in the long term.
Your profile
-
You hold a degree in computer science, transport engineering, engineering, mathematics, or a comparable field.
-
You are excited about the public transportation sector and ideally have experience in a similar field (e.g., with a UK Train Operating Company, transport authority, transport consultancy, or a transport planning and control system provider). A general understanding of delivering software-based projects is equally desirable.
-
You think analytically, structure problems clearly, and find pragmatic solutions even when requirements shift during a project.
-
You are willing to travel regularly to customers across the United Kingdom and to be on-site when the success of a project requires it.
-
You communicate confidently in English – both spoken and written; knowledge of German is an advantage but not a requirement.
A note on location and travel requirements
-
This is a remote role, open only to candidates based in the UK with existing right‑to‑work. While applications from across the UK are welcome, we have a preference for candidates within commuting distance of London.
-
The role involves occasional UK travel for client meetings, onsite work, and team collaboration, plus occasional travel to Germany to meet with our parent company. Some overnight stays may be required.
