Figures for the first half of the financial year 2008
A weak first quarter is followed by a good second quarter Goals for the year will be achieved
IVU Traffic Technologies AG achieved a good result in the second quarter of 2008. However this does not yet compensate for the weakness of the first quarter. The performance figures for the first half-year are negative, but the expectations for the further progress of business are nonetheless good because of the healthy order-book situation.
In the second quarter of the financial year 2008 revenue exceeded the figure for same quarter in 2007 by € 600 000 (+ 8.5%) with about the same gross profit (about € 6 million). EBIT (+ € 255 000) and the consolidated profit (+ € 276 000) for the second quarter were considerably higher; this is due to lower depreciation and other operational expenditures through until the end of the period in question.
However, it has not yet been possible to compensate for the weakness of the first quarter of 2008. The revenue for the first half-year 2008 is about € 12.8 million (€ 13.4 million in 2007) and thus 4% lower than the same period in the previous year and the gross profit
(€ 10.2 million; € 11.7 million in 2007) is down by 13%. EBIT is € 1.0 million lower, and there is a consolidated loss of € 1.0 million.
“We are nevertheless confident that the goals for the financial year 2008 will be reached,” says Prof. Ernst Denert, Chair of the Management Board of IVU Traffic Technologies AG. “The order situation is good and we expect further orders this year, for which we have only made very conservative allowance in our planning. If the orders are received, this can lead to a better annual performance.”
Currently, IVU expects revenue for the financial year of above € 30 million and EBIT of about € 2 million. 86% of the planned revenue and 84 % of the gross profit are already covered by the existing orders.
