Standardised personnel planning procedures – RHENUS VENIRO introduces MICROBUS in all its subsidiaries
Increased efficiency with standard software nationwide
In future, the public transport companies owned by RHENUS VENIRO GmbH & Co. KG will be using the same software system for their personnel planning. The Group has chosen to introduce MICROBUS, the public transport system of IVU Traffic Technologies AG.
RHENUS VENIRO has in the past only used MICROBUS to plan its fleet deployment. After having tried the system for personnel deployment in its subsidiary Niederrheinische Verkehrsbetriebe (NIAG) and in the Stadtverkehr Zwickau (SVZ), this application is now to be extended. RHENUS VENIRO has ordered MICROBUS for the remainder of its nine bus companies.
“The convincing thing about MICROBUS is that it is so convenient to use. It allows particularly efficient operations and rapid responses to changing situations and passenger flows, to the benefit of our customers and our clients”, comments Rolf Tödtmann, the member of the board of management of RHENUS VENIRO who is in charge of introducing MICROBUS throughout Germany. “We are also anticipating very positive effects when all dispatchers in our Group operate using the same software.” This will simplify not only the provision of stand-ins or replacements and the organisation of training courses, but also the maintenance and up-grading of the external and internal systems. This is because in future there will only be one contact partner – IVU.
“We are pleased that we have again been able to convince a customer with our systems”, comments Prof. Ernst Denert, Chair of the Board of Management of IVU Traffic Technologies AG. “And we are particularly pleased that RHENUS VENIRO has decided to introduce our software for personnel deployment in all its bus companies simultaneously.”
RHENUS VENIRO is an owner-managed Group which operates a number of public transport companies. It currently operates nine bus companies in various regions of Germany, in addition to two railway systems and a tram service:
- in the west the Niederrheinische Verkehrsbetriebe AG (NIAG) in Moers and the Verkehrsbetriebe Minden-Ravensberg GmbH (VMR),
- in the south-west the public transport companies in Bad Kreuznach (VGK), Idar-Oberstein (VIO), and Zweibrücken (VGZ), the Moselbahn in the Trier region and Martin Becker in Westerwald, and the Alzey-Kirchheimbolanden rail service (Donnersbergbahn),
- in the east, the Regionalbus Oberlausitz GmbH in Bautzen (RBO), the Regionalverkehrsbetriebe Westsachsen in Zwickau (RVW), the Stadtverkehr Zwickau (SVZ), and the Freiberg Railway (FEG / Muldentalbahn).
Currently, RHENUS VENIRO has a fleet of some 1000 busses as well as five trains with diesel traction units. In December 2009, RHENUS VENIRO will also be taking over the Hunsrückbahn rail service between Boppard and Emmelshausen.
