Virtual town halls and mobile public services
easyGovernment makes it possible to access public services via the Internet, avoiding the need for long waits in crowded offices. Mobile public services can be taken to the people instead of obliging them to come to the town hall. Moving the data instead of moving people. Administrative procedures can be made transparent on the Internet transparent, instead of piling up in filing cabinets. As a result, costs can be reduced and services can be provided from Service Centres to the standards expected by customers in other areas.
IVU has already implemented a number of IT-solutions for public administrations. In Berlin and Bremen, service centres have been established, equipped with a system developed to provide local access to all public services, including for example applications for licences and certificates – as well as all regulations, files, and procedures available at a mouse-click around the clock to all personnel.
The system will be accessible from more than 20 000 desktops in the administration and can also be accessed via the Internet. This means that it will also be possible to provide mobile public services. Service personnel with mobile systems, will visit locations where the services are required. They can arrange provision of social services, family services, applications for residential and work permits, identity card renewals, etc.
